The Live Difference: How Wave Stage Powers Real Time Interactivity

In a world where 3D performances are becoming more common, Wave stands apart by delivering a truly live and immersive experience that redefines what it means to perform and attend a show in the virtual world. Unlike most virtual experiences that are pre-recorded or feature limited interactions, Wave delivers real-time performances that make it easier, fun, and more intuitive for performers and their audiences. Artists can instantly feel the energy of their audience, allowing them to react, adapt, and enhance their performance on the fly, resulting in a dynamic and fully live experience.

With the launch of our Beta, we’ve doubled down on the live experience with Wave Stage, an XR performance space designed to prioritize performer ease while leveraging advanced technology to enhance every aspect of the show, enabling artists to focus on what they do best—perform.

Wave Stage, located in our Los Angeles studio, is a fully integrated hardware and software solution that makes virtual performances feel as alive as any physical concert. The immersive setup features a massive 20-foot by 9-foot curved LED wall paired with a 10-foot by 10-foot LED floor, creating a surround visual experience that reflects the vibrancy of the virtual world in real time. The colors, lights, and dynamic effects of the show are synced to what the artist and audience experience in the moment, amplifying the performance’s energy.

Pro-grade audio equipment—premium microphones, preamps, and in-ear monitors—ensures that performers not only look their best but sound their best as well, allowing the audience to feel fully immersed in both sound and visuals.

Central to Wave Stage is bi-directional interactivity, a feature that fosters real-time communication between performers and audiences, making virtual shows feel more alive and engaging. Performers can see, hear, and feel their audience’s reactions in real time. Imagine an artist pausing mid-performance to answer fan questions, bringing a fan on stage for a live dance-off, or switching between different VR spaces to interact more intimately with smaller groups.

Our stage technology enables this level of interaction by compressing and synchronizing data in real time, ensuring that audience reactions—whether cheers, emotes, or messages—are instantly visible to the performer. This seamless exchange creates an atmosphere that feels more like a live concert than a digital broadcast, turning attendees into active participants.

Artists also have unparalleled real time control over their performances. Using MIDI controllers, foot pedals, or custom setups, performers can shape the experience as they go. They can sync musical elements with dynamic visual effects, alter lighting and soundscapes, or trigger dramatic shifts in the performance to match the energy of the moment. Artists can elevate their show into “Peak State” or overdrive mode, a feature that amplifies visuals and effects to create crescendos at the perfect moment.

At Wave, we’re reinventing what live performance means in the 3D space with our investment in Wave Stage. Through real-time interaction, immersive environments, and performer-driven controls, we’ve crafted an artist-first experience that empowers creators to connect with their audiences in entirely new ways – all in the moment, all live.
