WAVE BETA – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Wave Beta is an early-access version of the Wave platform, allowing users to test new features before the full release. As a Beta user, you’ll experience experimental features and provide feedback to help shape the future of Wave. Since the app is still in development, you may encounter bugs, which our team will work to address as quickly as possible.
No, Wave Beta offers both a VR experience and an interactive livestream available on our private Discord server.
Wave Beta is invite-only, and access is granted through our waitlist. To join, visit wavexr.com/waitlist, provide the required details, and wait for an invitation. VR users must include the Meta Account Email linked to their headset to access the Wave Beta app.
This is the email you use to log into your Quest 3 or 3S. We need this to grant you access to the Wave Beta app.
To confirm your Meta Account Email while in your headset:
Open Quick Settings (bottom left, near the clock & Wi-Fi).
Select Settings (upper right).
Click on your Display Name under the search bar.
Scroll down and select Accounts Center (with the Meta logo).
In the left navigation, click Personal Details.
Under Contact Info, you’ll find your email.
Wave Beta supports Quest 3 and Quest 3S. PC VR headsets are not supported at this time.
Invites are sent in waves based on waitlist position and other criteria. You can move up the waitlist by referring friends. Keep an eye on your email for an invitation as we gradually expand access.
You’ll receive an email from Wave with instructions on how to access the Beta.
Our Discord server is private, and verification ensures that only invited Beta users can join. Discord is our main hub for Beta updates and community discussions.
Once invited, your email will include a link to log into your Meta Account and accept the Wave Beta app. After accepting, our team will approve your access. You will then receive an invite from Meta Horizon with the subject: ‘You have been approved to join the ALPHA 2 release channel by WaveXR.’
Wave will also send installation instructions. In your Quest 3 headset:
Go to Library > Applications.
Select NOT INSTALLED in the top right filter.
Find Wave Beta and click to download (this may take up to 10 minutes).
Report any bugs in the #support-and-bug-reports channel on Discord. A team member will respond within 24 hours. Your feedback helps us improve the experience!
No, Beta access is free. While we may explore monetization in the future, our focus is on gathering feedback and refining the platform.
The duration is yet to be determined and will depend on user feedback. We aim to optimize the platform before a full release, and your input is crucial in shaping our timeline.
Yes! You can refer friends to sign up for the waitlist. Referrals improve your waitlist position, increasing your chances of early access.
Show schedules are posted in our Discord channel, which is the main source for Beta updates. We’ll also share updates via email, our newsroom, and social media. Show schedules will also be available in the app.
Waves typically run 30-45 minutes, with a 5-15 minute pre-show.
Beta users can join shows in VR using a Quest 3 or 3S headset, or via an interactive livestream on Wave’s private Discord server.
