WAVE BETA – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Wave Beta?

Wave Beta is an early-access version of the Wave platform, allowing users to test new features before the full release. As a Beta user, you’ll experience experimental features and provide feedback to help shape the future of Wave. Since the app is still in development, you may encounter bugs, which our team will work to address as quickly as possible.

Do I need a VR headset to participate in Wave Beta?

No, Wave Beta offers both a VR experience and an interactive livestream available on our private Discord server.

How can I sign up for Wave Beta?

Wave Beta is invite-only, and access is granted through our waitlist. To join, visit wavexr.com/waitlist, provide the required details, and wait for an invitation. VR users must include the Meta Account Email linked to their headset to access the Wave Beta app.

What is a Meta Account Email?

This is the email you use to log into your Quest 3 or 3S. We need this to grant you access to the Wave Beta app.

How do I find my Meta Account Email?

To confirm your Meta Account Email while in your headset:

Open Quick Settings (bottom left, near the clock & Wi-Fi).
Select Settings (upper right).
Click on your Display Name under the search bar.
Scroll down and select Accounts Center (with the Meta logo).
In the left navigation, click Personal Details.
Under Contact Info, you’ll find your email.

Which headsets are supported by the Wave Beta VR app?

Wave Beta supports Quest 3 and Quest 3S. PC VR headsets are not supported at this time.

How are users selected from the waitlist?

Invites are sent in waves based on waitlist position and other criteria. You can move up the waitlist by referring friends. Keep an eye on your email for an invitation as we gradually expand access.

How will I know when I’ve been granted access?

You’ll receive an email from Wave with instructions on how to access the Beta.

Why is there a verification process for Wave’s Discord server?

Our Discord server is private, and verification ensures that only invited Beta users can join. Discord is our main hub for Beta updates and community discussions.

How do I download and access the Wave Beta VR app once invited?

Once invited, your email will include a link to log into your Meta Account and accept the Wave Beta app. After accepting, our team will approve your access. You will then receive an invite from Meta Horizon with the subject: ‘You have been approved to join the ALPHA 2 release channel by WaveXR.’

Wave will also send installation instructions. In your Quest 3 headset:
Go to Library > Applications.
Select NOT INSTALLED in the top right filter.
Find Wave Beta and click to download (this may take up to 10 minutes).

What should I do if I encounter bugs or issues?

Report any bugs in the #support-and-bug-reports channel on Discord. A team member will respond within 24 hours. Your feedback helps us improve the experience!

Is there a cost to participate in Wave Beta?

No, Beta access is free. While we may explore monetization in the future, our focus is on gathering feedback and refining the platform.

How long will the Beta phase last?

The duration is yet to be determined and will depend on user feedback. We aim to optimize the platform before a full release, and your input is crucial in shaping our timeline.

Can I invite friends to join the Beta?

Yes! You can refer friends to sign up for the waitlist. Referrals improve your waitlist position, increasing your chances of early access.

When are the shows?

Show schedules are posted in our Discord channel, which is the main source for Beta updates. We’ll also share updates via email, our newsroom, and social media. Show schedules will also be available in the app.

How long is a Wave?

Waves typically run 30-45 minutes, with a 5-15 minute pre-show.

How can Beta users attend a show?

Beta users can join shows in VR using a Quest 3 or 3S headset, or via an interactive livestream on Wave’s private Discord server.
