Wave has teamed up with legendary Dutch DJ’s W&W and Japan’s leading virtual pop star to produce a one of a kind live event. All footage above is captured in real-time, from our experience. This one is absolutely mind blowing- we can’t wait to share it with you! Produced in partnership with Avex.

REZZ’s Beyond the Senses

On July 23, 75,000 live attendees tuned in to see legendary “Space Mom” REZZ premiere her new EP ‘Beyond The Senses’ at an insane virtual event. Users joined as VR, desktop attendees, and Twitch moths. What’s a Twitch moth? Watch the recap video above!

Grammy award-winning recording artist and technologist Imogen Heap and TheWaveVR have teamed up to create a first-of-its-kind immersive music performance.

Imogen Heap is a live holographic experience where Imogen performs a series of songs including an unreleased Frou Frou track and an entirely new mix of “Hide and Seek.” Recorded by TheWaveVR, the performance takes place at Imogen’s home studio in London. To record Imogen’s likeness, TheWaveVR worked with volumetric capture company Depth Kit, which created a virtual version of Imogen’s home where visitors can experience breathtaking visuals as environments which evolve to the sounds of the music.

Globally renown electronic trio The Glitch Mob teamed up with TheWaveVR and Strangeloop Studios to create a totally new kind of album experience for their critically acclaimed record See Without Eyes. Available internationally on the Oculus Rift and Steam, this wave takes groups of users on an odyssey of shifting dreamscapes choreographed to a 20-minute custom mix of the album. Part film, part concert and part art installation, See Without Eyes explores themes fundamental to immersive technology, such as the relationship between isolation and social interaction in the digital world.

N-FOLD launched 6/28 as TheWaveVR's first flagship show, in collaboration with Strangeloop and Flying Lotus' acclaimed imprint BRAINFEEDER. N-FOLD is a synesthetic virtual reality experience, which pushes the boundaries of music, visuals, and social interaction. Known for his iconic visual work for artists such as The Weeknd, Erykah Badu, and Flying Lotus, David Wexler (Strangeloop) brings his trademark psychedelic aesthetic to the realm of VR, taking the user on a cinematic journey that could only exist using VR technology.

The fourth flagship wave, AKTUAL, featured Iranian-born, London-based experimental artist Ash Koosha, in a performance which broke both political and artistic boundaries.

Ash Koosha, who had been imprisoned and blacklisted by his home country for making rock music and films, lives in asylum in London, where he produces what RollingStone calls, “uncompromising, dizzying and dense” electronic  music. RollingStone named him “An Artist You Need To Know,” last February, upon the release of last year's I AKA I on Ninja Tune.

Unfortunately, Ash had to cancel his supporting tour due to “extreme vetting” of his visa. Earlier this year, he had to cancel yet another tour due to Trump’s travel ban, and has yet to set foot in the US, where he seeks to promote his music. In January, he issued a statement on the travel ban, writing, “All of my ambitions, contributions and efforts were reduced to bureaucratic paperwork that left me feeling betrayed and burdened because of my ‘place of birth’.”

Ash's wave brought his audio visual show, AKTUAL, to the US, where hundreds of users were transported inside his mind to watch him perform his music and conduct dynamic visual forms using TheWaveVR's performance tools.

Art directed by Strangeloop with additional visuals from Hirad Sab, the show features pulsing permutations of virtual anatomy, fluidic patterns seeping from invisible seems in space, sentient clusters of virtual detritus, and plays with perceptions of self and scale.

To celebrate the release of famed LA producer TOKiMONSTA's new record, Lune Rouge, we created the first full-length interactive album in VR. The fifth installment in this year's Wave concert series, The Lune Rouge Experience blows the "live music" paradigm wide open, letting fans explore a planet inspired by the album artwork, dance in an interstellar rave under an exploding sun, and remix a 3D world built out of  TOKiMONSTA's music. Art Directed by Strangeloop, this wave is like literally stepping inside the album art and experiencing Toki's music in a new dimension.
